I marched in DC on 9/12, I sent a donation to one of Dick Morris' causes, I sent a donation to Doug Hoffman's campaign and I'm not doing enough. We need to do more and I don't know what it is to do...

Our Purpose

The purpose of this social network is action-oriented and very narrow.

Join, if you want to:

  • make phone calls to help local candidates anywhere in the United States.
  • discuss systems to make phone calls to voters.
  • discuss the effectiveness of scripts used for phone calls to voters.
  • discuss conducting phone surveys of voters.
  • discuss ways to raise funds through direct phone calls to voters.
  • report on successes and failures of local phone bank campaigns.

DON'T JOIN, if you want to:

  • discuss current events.
  • discuss political issues.
  • promote organizations or candidates or celebrities.
  • influence legislation.
  • post interesting information that you've seen on other sites or in e-mail messages.

One of the drawbacks of social networks is that many are often all over the map in terms of what is being discussed. Potential members have visions of huge volumes of messages filling their in box. We want to assure you that we will not permit that to happen here. We are going to be very strict on limiting the e-mail traffic from this network to things that are related to the purpose of the site.

Our goal is not to be the biggest social network. We'd rather have ten active members than ten thousand dilettantes distracting us from our purpose.

While this site is a companion network to Grassroots PhoneBank™, we intend to support all candidate phone banks, regardless of political party. It is up to each volunteer to decide whether the candidates meet the volunteer's political criteria.

This site will be open and public until November 4, 2009, the day after the general elections in many states. After that, we may decide to make it invitation-only or moderated-membership.
